My initial travel plans/ideas

In search of purpose, balance, healing, inspiration and surprises

One year of freedom is what I have imagined. A year being my own manager, making my own decisions, approving my own travel. A year without a fixed home, seeing how I can make myself at home everywhere I go. A year without expectations, following my own pace, slow as it may now be, going places I have dreamt of, doing things I love, taking time to live and to simply be, soaking up the atmosphere of where I am. A year to keep exploring myself, feeding my never-ending attraction to personal development and seeking for who I really am. A year to explore new grounds, to learn about the soil and about growing the food that I eat. A year to use my skills, spread the Zero Waste lifestyle and knowledge that I have gained in the past years.

Here are roughly my initial plans/ideas:

  • August Week 1 and 2: Schumacher College short courses 'Myth and Ecology' and ‘Elegant Simplicity’ in Dartington, UK. 10 days in a place of ecology, spirituality and community.
  • August-Sept during 4-6 weeks – Switzerland and surroundings, farmstays in the Alps and countrysides, learning about dairy farming, milking and caring for cows, or possibly also goats, maybe also learning about permaculture if possible. I will be looking for farms to host me through the website http://www.workaway.info

  • Mid-Sept to End October – 6-8 weeks in Chile, farmstays on permaculture project farms
  • November-December – 6-8 weeks in Costa Rica, farmstays on permaculture and organic farms, possibly volunteering for turtle conservation
  • Jan-June 2020: farmstays and volunteering in Asia, including Cambodia, Bali (more for yoga, meditation), Bangladesh (refugee camp), maybe Nepal, Myanmar.

At this point, nothing is booked other than my first stop at the Schumacher College in the UK, and the whole plan is very much subject to change according to:

  • how I feel in each place,
  • opportunities coming up as I go
  • the people I meet who may inspire me to go visit a specific place or farm
  • the weather (yes it’s no joke)
  • my health
